Today we have an incredible story of the births of Mai’s boys. Mai is a Muslim homeschooling mama who currently lives in Montreal. In this episode, we discuss how she went into her first birth openly trusting the medical system and doctors. She had a difficult experience, leaving her with a 4th degree tear. The tear healed beautifully thanks to her culture’s respect of the postpartum period. She also came out of her birth determined to find answers and a better way to birth her children. This led her to begging her way into a midwifery clinic and having a beautiful undisturbed, unmedicated, empowered birth. This is a story of finding trust in oneself and of a woman learning to listen to herself and her body. “Birth is a powerful emotional transformative experience for a woman”.
