The way her supervisors and policy makers handled the situation furthered her distrust for the allopathic medical system which was brought forth after the traumatic birth of her son a year prior. In her second pregnancy, she took a doula course which helped her prepare for an empowered birth. She shares how the c-section birth of her second child was less traumatic than her previous vaginal birth. Her goal is to arm families with knowledge about their patient rights while navigating the medical system so that it can be used as a healthcare tool. Her course Birth Autonomy within the Medical System will be launched March 2023 Find her on Instagram @maternalintuition Sondra’s website nursedoulabirthkeeper.com The doula course she took was by midwife Whapio Diane Bartlett thematrona.com
