Hi there

This week we follow on from last week’s episode, where an employee was dismissed for verbally abusing his colleague – then took his case to an Employment Tribunal. The Tribunal agreed the employee was unfairly dismissed and also noted that the choice of dismissal was too harsh a sanction to apply to the employee’s case. In this episode, we also look at the legal test the Tribunal used to come to it’s decision and we provide pointers for what you should look for, from your employer’s conduct of your disciplinary - should you find yourself facing a dismissal for misconduct at work.

It's our view, that the more you are able to acquaint yourself with your employment rights in this area, the more your rights will act as an early warning system, which you can use to spot bad treatment or illegal treatment that you may be suffering at work. If you need help to formulate your complaint you can download a copy of our ‘Complaints Checklist’ here.

If you need help with queries about rest breaks, you can download our Employment Rights Online checklist of 15 smart actions that you can use to help you challenge unfair and illegal treatment at work. We include templates for grievance letters with that download. The download link is in the show notes with all our support links; and, if you would like to book a consultation with us to look at your employment rights concerns, you can email us at employmentrightsonline@gmail.com or use the Consultations Link in the show notes, to go directly to our consultations bookings page.

Until next week
