Welcome to this weeks podcast! This week I’ve done a video EEK! We talk about how God is teaching us in the times of patience and how that can help you to build a better business and a stronger platform for wealth. Enjoy!

James 1:4

“4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Patience… I don’t know about you but when I hear that word I cringe, because I know that in my heart I am wanting to do something eagerly but I know that God has a different plan.

I know we can all think of a time where we have needed something right now or waiting on an answer right now from God, but he’s knows what’s best for you, he can see the bigger plan yet we push and push at God for what it is we want and God sends us around and around and around until we get this whole patience things and it’s in God’s timing not ours.

When in your business have you asked God for something and needing something right now and sat next to the phone waiting on God…

The thing is, as I am getting older (I am no way near perfect or trying to be) I am beginning to understand that having an entrepreneurial heart and wanting to fight for God and his kingdom, God is going to keep giving ways to learn patience and to learn to trust in him.

You see I believe that hidden behind every patient person I believe there is a huge amount of trust and faith in God. That doesn’t mean you need to be lazy and not do anything in your business expecting God to sort everything out. But I do believe it means stepping out in faith and expecting God to catch you.

Proverbs 3:5

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”

He really does have a bigger plan and even though we don’t see it, he really does know what’s install for your life and business, he may have given you a little glimpse of what’s coming but, it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen straight away.

I originally had these subjects in two different points but I decided to change it because they both go hand in hand. God wants you to be patient and wait in him and he also wants you to grow your wealth and business slowly. Why is this?

I think it’s for a couple of reasons, one we learn SO much when we are being patient, two we learn so much by growing our wealth slowly and God’s giving us a little bit by a little bit more to make sure our hearts don’t grow greedy or that we just do something REALLY stupid with what he gives us and three to build our faith.

Prov 13:11

“Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.”

If God gave man a million dollars tomorrow what’s that going to teach him… Nothing! Most people would have no idea what to do if a million dollars landed in their lap apart from spend it and spend it on stuff that wouldn’t make more money but waste it. Everyone who knows how to manage money well and a lot of it, knows you don’t build wealth by spending it on toys on holidays, but on items that either go up in capital or create cash flow and don’t decrease in value but grow.

Unfortunately cars and holidays bring in neither of the above.

That’s why we see people winning the lottery and in a years’ time being worse off then what they were before they won. That’s why we see celebrities suddenly broke because they know how to sing or get fame but no one has thought them how to handle their cash when they do get it and they end up in a ridiculously amount of debt buying mansions, gold watches and worse drugs and then have nothing left for their future.

As the evil guys who wants to take over the world in Despicable Me… STUPID!

Instead we need to grow through the journey of God teaching us either from his word or life lessons how to manage small amounts of cash and wealth. Once we’ve got the hang of that, then he’ll trust us with more. If you can turn five dollars into fifty God will then give you a hundred to turn into a thousand and if you give the first fruits from each of that amount he knows he’s got your heart.

He also knows that it’s ok for us to make mistakes with that money, especially if we are on a mission from God to build wealth. If anything, I think God has to be far more patient with us rather than us waiting on God. He’s like, ok I like this SJ chick, she’s going somewhere and then BAM, I make a mistake and he’s like no worries, let’s give her a different situation with the same lessons and see if she learns this way… It’s either going to be another BAM or awesome, she’s got it, she’s learn. Now let’s give her some more.

Let’s take a mind flip here. Are you the one being patient with God, or is God being patient with you…

He knows you’ve got the right heart, he knows you’re hungry for him. Maybe it’s you he’s waiting on. Either to take the calculated risk of investing or to take action on the dream that he’s got for you. If you do take action, remember everything takes time because God’s teaching you and you are learning.

Learning the lessons that God needs to teach you, waiting on God sometimes because it takes time for God to get the right people in front of you.

It might be you that’s in the way of your next client walking through the door because the fears and un-trust you have with God. I’ve heard so many stories when people have been struggling for ages either in their business or investments and when they’ve given up and given it God, Gods pulled it around. Maybe it’s not what you are doing but what you’re not doing or not learning that you need to get right. Then God can work on you.

The next time you feel like you’re waiting on God here are three things you can do.

First ask yourself what it is that God might be trying to teach you in this situation. Am I getting in my own way, when God is trying to help me?

What have I done with my money so far that’s given God reason to trust in me? Do I need to get more knowledge and learn more?

Is it just the fact that this is just not the right timing and trusting in God to wait and let him show you when the right time is….

No-one said wealth building and growing business was going to be easy or that god is going to put everything in your hands. James warns us that in patience there is suffering.

James 5:7

“Patience in Suffering

7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.”

Being patient with yourself as you’re learning (trust me when I say, I never have a day when I don’t learn something new or that God doesn’t give me a face splat) forgiving yourself for what you have or haven’t done, learning what you can from it and letting it go.

God does assure us that if we are patient with him and with ourselves he will bless us and I believe that blessing comes from the trust we show in God to say, “Ok God, I trust in you that this is the right path and will wait in your timing and learn all I can along the way.” This shows so many good things that God likes, he loves us humbling ourselves to him, he loves it when we trust in him and hundred percent and his timing and he loves a serving heart.

James 5:11

“11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”

Patience that I’m not going to get everything now and know that things built slowly and of good quality will last longer, building endurance in our souls so we are stronger for God.

Roman 15:5

“5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,”

Have comfort in knowing that God isn’t going to give you everything over night, but enough of what he knows you can handle. Celebrate and give thanks when you do turn your five dollars into fifty and be open to what God wants to give you next.

He wants you to build your wealth and build it to a size you can be trusted with and note that, it’s not so much about getting the hundred dollars or a million dollars it’s about your mission, your passion and what you learn along the way. Take comfort that God has got your right hand and he’s got BIG things planned for you, all you need to do is give it to him and enjoy the ride.

Have peace in knowing that even as I make the podcasts God is giving me opportunities to have patience and to take that step out and trust in him and the more I do it, the more he keeps giving me to trust in him.
