Die einfache Gegenwart wird verwendet um etwas Allgemeingültiges festzustellen. I speak German. - Ich spreche deutsch. I like books. – Ich mag Bücher. Danny and Chris live in England. – Danny und Chris leben in England. Bildung des Simple Present: Das Verb im Satz bleibt in seiner Normalform, die Verbendung unverändert. Ausnahme: die dritte Person Einzahl, er, sie und es, oder he/she/it. In der dritten Person Einzahl wird ein s and die Verbendung angehängt. He speaks German. I speak, you speak, we speak, they speak, aber he speaks, she speaks und it speaks. The sun rises in the East. – Die Sonne geht im Osten auf. Sonne steht in der dritten Person. Also muss an die Verbendung ein „S“ angehängt werden und aus „rise“ wird „rises“. The sun rises in the East. Das Simple Present wird auch verwendet um auszudrücken, dass bestimmte Dinge fest stehen oder sich wiederholen. I meet Danny every Monday. – Ich treffe Danny jeden Montag. Danny meets me every Monday.
