What is the Grammar-Translation Method? It is a traditional approach to teaching foreign languages that emphasizes the translation of texts from the target language into a student's native language. As part of a GTM curriculum, students typically study a textbook, memorize grammar rules, learn vocabulary, and complete translation exercises focused on developing reading and writing skills.
