Having a distinguished career is important to a lot of people, but what do you do when reaching that achievement that conflicts with your essential values? Mel Lagomasino successfully and effectively worked in the institutional environment of big banking for many years, but eventually became disillusioned with the evolving nature of the industry. She relinquished a successful career (with lots of perks) to start her own financial advisory company, We Family Office, to have a more satisfying integration of her values and her performance objectives. She discusses her choice to leave the institutional banking industry and the success she has found with her own company on ENTREPRENEURradio.

The decision to leave the institutional environment was life changing to Mel Lagomasino. As the banking business model started to move more toward products and less about offering financial advice to people who needed it, Mel knew she had to take action. “I just have to be able to build something that really is consistent with what I believe,” she says in her interview.

Mel Lagomasino walked away from the perks that came with working in the institutional environment because she believed in a greater mission. “I never regret it for a moment. I never looked back,” she said. For more on her entrepreneurial story, listen to her featured interview on ENTREPRENEURradio.
