Who doesn't love heart-touching stories of entrepreneurs of WHY they started?
When I first met Paseka Lesolang, his reason for starting a business was so noble, to support his grandmother to overcome huge utility bills due to water leaks from their toilet.
His story is nothing short of remarkable, as this relentless pursuit quickly shifted to ease the burden for many other families experiencing a similar problem. What transpired from an endeavour to help at home and his community, has now evolved to even greater inspiring social impact initiatives.
A true gentleman at heart, you don't want to miss this conversation, we look forward to your presence and engagement!
Paseka Lesolang is an advocate for job creation and environmental sustainability, especially water security. Through his company WHC, he has created over 30 jobs and saved over 90 million liters of water to date.
He completed a course in Advanced Entrepreneurship with the University of Pretoria and is currently pursuing a BCom Business Management Degree through UNISA. A water and energy efficiency practitioner, among others, he completed courses in Water and Energy Efficiency Management, Carbon Footprint Analysis, and Sustainable and Efficient Facilities Management at the Terra Firma Academy.
He also participated in an accelerated MBA programme at the University of Colorado, USA, an Innovation Course at Stanford University, USA and a Project Management course from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
His impact has earned him several multinational accolades for innovation and entrepreneurship. Amongst others, his company WHC Solutions, was selected as one of the Top 3 Most Disruptive & Promising Water Start-ups in the World, at the 2015 H2O Challenge. In 2018 he was named the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme Alumni Leader in South Africa.
In addition, Paseka was the Coordinator of Youth, Innovation, Jobs and Industrialisation for the Global Water Partnership (GWP) Southern Africa. His efforts have recently earned him one of President Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowships. This allowed him to complete a course in Sustainable Business Leadership at Rutgers University, in the USA.
