Manage episode 292209649 series 2924439
“You can test ideas out in a more simpler or less expensive form.”– James Tucker
James Tucker is the newly-appointed CEO of Govnet, the UK’s largest provider of specialist events and training courses for the public sector. They run over 650 events a year, and since the Pandemic, they’ve seen one of the biggest shifts in their 24-year history in terms of how they host events.
Prior to his new role, James was the COO for just over two years. Among other projects, he oversaw a digital transformation programme that equipped his team with 200 hundred laptops to facilitate flexible working just three weeks before Covid was a thing. The timing couldn’t have been better!
In our wide-ranging conversation, we discuss transitioning into the role of a CEO; lessons he’s learned from leading a team through crisis; Zapier hacks for integrating APIs; and so much more!
