Former President Donald Trump’s defense team rested its case in his New York trial Tuesday without calling any more witnesses. The judge ordered the jury to return next Tuesday for summations, and closing arguments are expected next week.

Israeli officials announced they will return a camera and broadcasting equipment they seized from The Associated Press. Israel has accused the news organization of violating a new law by providing images to Al Jazeera. This came as the UN halted all food deliveries to Rafah.

One person has died and at least 71 others were injured when a Singapore Airlines flight experienced severe turbulence over the Bay of Bengal. The Boeing 777 was flying from London to Singapore, and had to make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand.

The House Rules Committee held a hearing on a bill that would prohibit noncitizens from voting in local elections in the District of Columbia. House Republicans are trying to repeal a 2022 law that gave noncitizens in Washington the right to vote. Currently, at least 16 jurisdictions in the country allow noncitizens to vote in local elections.
