She talks about relationships with horses, her background in horses, her thoughts on physiotherapy and her experience since coming to Canada. She is an amazing storyteller and we hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did!

Dr. Viviana Hernandez graduated in 2012 from the Veterinary Faculty at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Since graduating, Dr. Hernandez has worked with different species, from small animals to lions and zebras. However, her passion has always been equine medicine. Dr. Hernandez’ mother and grandfather are both Olympians and being raised with sport horses and knowing first-hand the influence they can have in the lives of their owners, she strongly believes in the importance of high quality preventive and sports medicine. She believes in the rider-horse-trainer-veterinarian partnership in order to get the most from horses and their riders at the discipline of their preference. Previously, Dr. Hernandez managed to balance her life as head veterinarian in a competitive equestrian team in Mexico and her life as a professional rider.
