Eugene considers the difficult problem of the effects of a nuclear war upon survivors and “even those who do not.” Very big shocks to our lives tend to sharpen our awareness. We might then become aware that whatever we do will have effects which could be far away but will be reflected back to each causal centre. This is, in fact, a reality right now. We are just not aware of it. We are all centres of energy broadcasting at various levels: physical, emotional, mentational, conceptual, volitional; to everyone. By increasing our sensitivity we can become aware of this at this moment, and we would then realise that the only differences between us are simply those with which we identify. It is this identification that makes us different at all these various levels. The question then, is why do we identify?
