Running, in all its different formats, is so commonplace today that we hardly question everyone can do it. In 1967, when Kathrine Switzer ran the Boston Marathon it made the headlines. No other woman before her had officially registered to the race and finished it. Kathrine went on to run over 40 marathons, organize hundreds of races for women all over the world and successful campaign for the women’s marathon to be included in the Olympic Games. Through running, Kathrine became an athlete, an activist, a journalist, a writer, and –as she says– herself. Valérie Angliviel de la Beaumelle sat down with Kathrine to discuss her career and how running taught her to be fearless.
