The fact that we think over 50 thousand thoughts a day is enough to stress us out, even without extenuating circumstances like Corona. And it may sound counter intuitive at first, but it's actually very helpful to learn how to be in the moment rather than constantly second guessing what's already over and done with or worrying about a future that might turn out entirely differently than what we're imagining anyway. And how can we learn to be in the moment? That's precisely why I'm thrilled to host Jen Emswiler, Founder & CEO of Thought Leader: a business on a mission to bring mindfulness to all, through virtual, live mindfulness and coaching sessions for teams and individuals. Jen discovered mindfulness after she was in an accident ten years ago, seeking ways to deal with her chronic pain. She found it so beneficial she began to implement it into her work with clients as a social worker, helping individuals and families facing profound challenges. Mindfulness continued to serve as one of Jen's top go-to tools as a business consultant and technical project manager, using it to increase focus, creativity and empathy. Been hearing the buzz about mindfulness and wondering what exactly it is and whether it's for you? Jen walks us through a simple mindfulness exercise you can do in just 30 seconds, teaches us practical tips for navigating working from home during times of change and uncertainty, and shows us how we can incorporate mindfulness throughout our day in ways that support both self care and connection with others.
