Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. This week we’re discussing the one and only album by Mad Season—Above. A side project and supergroup made up of Layne Staley on vocals (Alice in Chains), Mike McCready on guitar (Pearl Jam), Barrett Martin on drums (Screaming Trees), John Baker Saunders on bass, with contributions from Mark Lanegan. Mad Season was short-lived but commercially successful. However, Staley’s erratic behavior and drug use ended any potential for long-term success that the band had and ultimately led to his death in 2002.
