Successfully navigating the entertainment industry by far is one of the hardest industries to break in to. So how do you go about doing it successfully. We had the opportunity to sit down with Melissa Marin and discuss her journey into the entertainment space.
It was definitely not a perfect straight-line to get into the industry. She shares how unprepared in the beginning she was when she managed her first recording artist, to learning what to do moving forward. She also discussed how she finds artist and building relationships with brands to partner with her artist.
Not only is she managing two artist La Chachi and Lil $o$o but Melissa is one of the most talented creative directors. Her sense of style and creativity is a bonus for the artist she works with. They not only get a great manager, but a creative director, a music video director, a mentor, a PR and more with her many resources and connections.
When asked what advice she could give for upcoming artist, simply put "Use all your resources and social media to create some movement."
