Manage episode 197328098 series 1869398
Mike Gitter has been working in the metal / hard rock music industry for most of his life as A&R, management and all around go to guy, but back in the murky past he was the creator of xXx Fanzine. Between 1983 and 1988 he produced 20 issues documenting the hardcore punk movement as seen through the eyes of someone who was deeply embedded in the culture and lifestyle.
In partnership with Bridge 9, he has collected all 20 issues, along with some supplemental material, into one massive hard bound additon. We discuss the genesis of the project, some cool moments from the distant past and how the power of the music is still as relevant today as it was in the 1980's.
