Join Gonzo as he explores the music of progressive artists that at times flirt with mainstream radio as well as mainstream acts that sometimes delve into progressive territory. Along with rock-oriented current and classic prog, neo-prog with crossover potential is heavily featured, often including bands such as Frost*, Spock.s Beard, Marillion and Porcupine Tree. For those who think prog is nothing but long, boring instrumentals from 1970, Experiments In Mass Appeal is here to expose you to the rapidly growing subgenre of accessible prog. A.J. grew up in Central New York at a time when it wasn.t unusual to hear Pink Floyd, Rush and Yes on the radio. Throw in rock bands with progressive roots like Styx, Kansas and Supertramp, and you have the foundation for A.J..s brand of prog. Always drawn to rock with that little something extra, he developed a love for music that straddles the line between rock and prog that endures to this day. His lifelong love of music led him to having a radio show in college and a degree in Broadcasting. Having discovered like-minded music fans and a vibrant progressive rock community online, he chose to join the Dividing Line family to again share his unique musical view with an audience. Tune in as Gonzo challenges your preconceptions of what prog is by presenting radio-worthy songs that are true Experiments In Mass Appeal.
