As a woman in the traditionally male-dominated field of wine, Jessica Kogan faced numerous challenges, including microaggressions and a lack of respect. However, instead of letting these obstacles defeat her, she used them as fuel to grow stronger and ultimately became a powerful force in her career. Her unwavering determination and resilience have taught her the power of self-belief, ultimately helping her find her voice and inspiring others to do the same. In This Episode: Jessica talks about the unique obstacles faced by women in the traditionally male-centric wine industry Know the importance of transparency and engaging storytelling in successful wine marketing Discover the art of effectively juggling motherhood, career, and entrepreneurship for a fulfilling life Achieve personal growth and empowerment by tapping into your inner voice Jessica Kogan's career began with a bang, helping brands like Donna Karan, Elizabeth Arden, and Urban Decay develop communications strategies and reinvigorate their image. But she was also forming a healthy obsession with something novel at that time: the internet. Ultimately, the call of opportunity coming from the digital world became too loud to ignore, so she picked up. After continued success aiding major players like Prada, Gucci, and Giorgio Armani in carving out their digital niches, she found herself ready for something new. She co-founded Cameron Hughes Wine and never looked back. Twenty-one years later, it remains a leader in DTC wine sales — and Jessica, now serving as their Chief Growth & Experience Officer, remains a strategy powerhouse within it and all brands nestled under the Vintage Wine Estates umbrella. “I just would like to see more women around the table so that there's more of an equal balance and so that we could actually get our best work done.”~Jessica Kogan To learn more about Jessica, you can visit her website.
