EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – This week on Newsmakers: Dr. James Fanale, president and CEO of Care New England. A takeover of Rhode Island’s second-largest hospital system by Partners HealthCare of Boston is moving forward. Fanale discusses what it means for Care New England, whose hospitals include Women and Infants, and where the transaction stands now. He also responds to criticism of the potential deal from those who think it could have a negative impact on the state.

On the second half, Rhode Island Public Radio health care reporter Lynn Arditi joins Tim White and Ted Nesi for a hospital and healthcare roundtable.
