The WTIC Public Affairs Department “At Home CT”. Bill Pearse hosts “At Home CT” which airs Sunday mornings at 6:50am. Dr. Ukti Phadnis-Owner of Wethersfield Dental Group. Nearly 50,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year and Dr. Phadnis says it is increasing at an alarming rate. Half of those with oral cancer will survive past 5 years. It is only recognized when it has metastasized to another location, mostly the lymph node in the neck. Dr. Phadnis says oral cancer used to be diagnosed in individuals over 40 with a history of tobacco use or heavy drinking.
