Small Group Questions:
1. Chapter 17 was Babylon’s false religious system. Chapter 18 is Babylon’s economic system. What is Babylon?
2. Money is a tool and can be very helpful. As a Christian, when does it become dangerous?
3. Is it safe to say most world leaders are driven by greed and power?
4. In the big picture and the small picture of individual lives it looks like, he who dies with the most toys wins. Why?
5. How do you keep a balance on using money and not being greedy?
6. Paul told the Corinthians to have the right attitude about possessions: “those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; 31 those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away” (1 Corinthians 7). How do you use things without being engrossed in them?
7. Babylon stands for the religious, political, and economic system of the antichrist. How do you see this system present in our current situation?
8. Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 6 what to teach the rich Christians (all of us in America). What did he tell him to tell them? (Verses 17-19)
9. Babylon has crept into our culture (even Christian culture sometimes). How do we keep a guard up to recognize it?
10. God tells the believers to come out of the Babylonian system. How do we do that and still live in this world?
