Today's Devotion is "Justified by Faith" (Day 31 in our series 40 Days of Easter Truth)

Our Easter Focus Passage today is: Romans 3:21–28

21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Now, here's today's Easter Truth:

When we believe in Jesus Christ for salvation, we acknowledge three things: (1) that we are sinners in need of a Saviour; (2) that we are redeemed through the blood of Christ; and (3) that we are justified by God's grace and not by our works. Justification is the act of being made righteous in the sight of God. God removes our sin and guilt through the atoning blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and declares us to be righteous. Therefore, we are no longer debtors to sin but are alive unto God through Jesus Christ.
