There are so many instances on our children's life where the most loving thing we can do is assure them that what they are feeling, while it may feel real, is out of touch with reality. If our child feels cold when its warm, we work to see if they are healthy. If our child expresses that they feel not valuable or not loved, we assure them that isn't the case. If our child has made a poor decision and in turn, assert that they are innocent, we lovingly correct them. But society is telling us, when our child has feelings that relate to gender, we should abandon reality and affirm their feelings, and masquerade that affirmation of non-reality as love. Is that love? Lets talk about it.
