This week we welcomed Michael Willson, the AFL's chief photographer, to Fan Grrrls. Whether or not you know Michael's name, if you've observed footy media over the past decade you're probably familiar with his work.

He talked to us about the ethical issues that arise when you're photographing players' intimate moments, commiserated about the shots he missed, and explained his ability to sense when a big mark is coming. Michael also revealed the players that all footy photographers just love to shoot, and tells us how social media has helped make players more comfortable with opening up and showing emotion.

If you enjoyed this episode, we'd love it if you left a review!

Our artwork was designed by Steph Hughes, and our theme song is 'Here if You Need' by Wet Lips.
