Would you rather your daughter encounter a random bear in the woods or a random man?

100 out of 100 (yes, you read that correctly) moms answered “bear” and the backlash that women have received from a lot of men for answering this way is staggering and disturbing.

One-fourth of American women and a growing number of men have experienced some form of sexual abuse, ranging all the way from inappropriate talk to years of repeated physical violation. Sexual abuse produces emotional, psychological and spiritual damage that devastates some of its victims.
In Christ there is healing for people, like me (Liz) and maybe like you, damaged by sexual abuse. As with every other kind of sin-damage in this fallen world, God’s word gives us steps back to wholeness and his truth sets us free.
Today I am giving you some Biblical steps to start the healing process and journey to recovery and restoration:
1. Recover a biblical view of sex
2. Learn the difference between true and false guilt
3. Realize that the grip of the past is blocking God’s purpose for your present
4. Let Jesus heal your painful memories
Verses that clearly show God created sex in a holy marriage for our pleasure and enjoyment:

  • Proverbs 5:18-19
  • Ecclesiastes 9:9
  • Song of Solomon 7:6-12
  • Ephesians 5:31

If you or someone you know is suffering sexual abuse, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-4673 (call or text)
