John is the father of two children a 10 year and a 13 year old. He is the step father of twin 10 year old girls. John's first wife, Carrie, fought a four year battle against ovarian cancer. She passed away in 2017. In 2018 he met Julie, whose first husband had also fought a four battle with cancer and passed away two months before Carrie did. Their similar experience and positive outlook brought them together and they were married in November 2019.

On this episode we talk about:

  • What John learned from walking the battle with cancer with Carrie.
  • What it was like to be a widower and single father.
  • The differences single fathers experience compared to that of single women.
  • Dating and the guilt of loss.
  • Introducing the kids and what worked for them... then BAM, quarentine!
  • When and how was able to prioritize family and make a tough decision in his career.
  • We don't have it all figured out, but how do we set an example of kindness and dignity for our kids.
