They’re rechargeable batteries that can be found in electronic devices in every home - like your phone, tablet, electric scooters and bikes. If these batteries aren’t handled properly, they can overheat, catch fire or even explode! In this episode, our special guest, Battery Man, provides important FDNYSmart tips on how to use lithium-ion batteries safely and our student host, Chloe, interviews Lieutenant John Cassidy of HazMat Company 1, a unit specially trained to respond to fires that involve batteries.
