In Paul's last words to Timothy, he speaks of his pain, his priorities, and his perspective. Gospel work can be lonely. Paul experienced pains from his chains and from opposition and abandonment, even from other Christians. But although Christians may abandon other Christians, God will never abandon his children! Jesus was forsaken by the Father so that we would never be forsaken by the Father! And because of Christ's death on the cross to forgive us, we can forgive those who abandon us.
