About Our Guest // When the idea for PAUME came to founder Amy Welsman in early 2019, she was a new parent concerned about the health and wellbeing of her daughter. Already a seasoned entrepreneur by this point, Amy helped build the wildly successful Canadian women’s intimate apparel brand Knix as its first employee. Amy’s innate talent for pinpointing—and bringing to life—the next big idea led her to the concept of a nourishing, indulgent, sustainable hand care brand.

PAUME launched in late 2020 with one product, the PAUME Antibacterial Hand Gel. The award winning formula, which features 69% ethyl alcohol, moisturizing plant-based emollients including Safflower Oil, Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, and the PAUME Signature Blend of five essential oils with notes of woody cedar, crisp citrus, and herbaceous lavender and rosemary, is the antidote to the harsh, astringent, utilitarian hand sanitizers that have become ubiquitous. In the midst of relying on these products to keep her daughter safe, Amy felt that there had to be a better way.

Amy began creating PAUME a few months before the pandemic hit, but the need for a product that protects people and their loved ones from germs and bacteria has become more relevant now than ever. Amy's vision is to create products that are both elegant and effective, and helps us to feel safe and to stay in touch with the people in our lives.
