In Wolfgang Petersens Film DAS BOOT (BRD 1980/81) wurden für bestimmte Aufnahmen Puppen eingesetzt. Kostümbildnerin Monika Bauert hatte diese männlichen Ken-Puppen, besser bekannt als das Gegenstück zu Barbie, so umgestaltet, dass sie - etwa bei Totalen - als U-Boot-Besatzung durchgingen.
