Nick Lavery has been through a lot, like getting shot in the face and taken shrapnel to the back.

In Afghanistan his leg was tore up by an Afghan soldier by one of the guns in the back of a pickup to the point where he had to shove a ball of gauze up inside his leg to stop the bleeding while passing out multiple times and taking care of his team.

Yet, this man shows no bitterness and although he has a prosthetic where a leg used to be, you will see him still leading in Special Forces, lifting more weight than most can even think about, and even hits the mat in Jiujitsu as a true competitor.

His name is synonymous with resilience.

Some say that he is wired this way, and there is no doubt that he is, but one of the most interesting things that Nick has to say in this interview is that we all are wired the same and he encourages all of us to find ways to tap into this without having to go through a traumatic event or hit rock bottom.

We discuss his book Objective Secure where Nick discusses how we all can tap into this side of ourselves!

This episode is named “Get Back in the War!” and was published on September 5th, 2023.
