Welcome to our next podcast guest... Matthew Evans!
Matthew is a chef and food critic turned farmer-food activist. He lives on a mixed farm that occupies a one-time apple orchard in the Huon Valley outside Hobart with his partner Sadie Chrestman and son Hedley. He is best known nationally for his long-running SBS series Gourmet Farmer, set on Fat Pig Farm's 70 acres. He has authored or co-authored 13 books, his most recent 'Soil' being the focus of our conversation today.
We are fortunate enough to collaborate with Matthew and Sadie on an annual basis for one special 'Fat Pig Farm' experience where Matthew and Sadie join our guests for a night to cook them an incredibly delicious dinner. We chat about this collaboration very briefly in the podcast interview.

  • Hear how Matthew finds so much joy through food
  • Learn about he importance of why choosing food that cares for the environment is so important
  • Learn why soil is so great!
  • Learn about a potential link between soil nutrients and achieving flow state
  • Hear how Matthew explains the importance of soil health being part of the solution to climate change.

Enjoy!
