“The Priest is a gift from the Heart of Christ” said Pope Benedict XVI in June 2010, quoting St. John Vianney, the Curé of Ars (France). There is no Eucharist without the Priesthood. The priest is chosen from among the people to serve the people in the things that refer to God. Only the priest can consecrate the Body and Blood of Christ, and only the priest can absolve sins in sacramental Confession. Today I talk about the priesthood, and why it is such a gift from Jesus to the Church and to all humanity.
