With so much of gaming living as zeroes and ones on servers, the idea of losing history in a blink of an idea is a devastating reality. The topic of preservation is an ongoing discussion in the industry, and one of the best defenses may be writing those experiences down on paper. Satchell Drakes and Matt Perez discuss the issues of preservation in the gaming industry and the few yet great works of nonfiction helping to track its history. They also talk to Gabe Durham, the founder and editor of Boss Fight Books. Each entry in the series focuses on a single game from the perspective of a new author, often mixing history, criticism and personal anecdotes. Also on the podcast, (@40:09) Erik Kain and Paul Tassi talk about the mysterious lack of Marvel video games in the wake of Black Panther’s success.
