Breaking into the mailroom is extremely competitive and everyone knows you can only do it with at least one exceptional referral, otherwise, they won’t even interview you.
Ian Young, a recent UTA Virtual Extern (2020) talks about the application process, pitching a movie script to Hollywood agents, what they look for in new hires and how he's navigating the ongoing pandemic. Ian is an undergraduate at the University of Michigan and has experience as a Set Production Assistant at 313 Entertainment and was also a General Staff member at Funny Bone Comedy Club in Ohio.
