Welcome to the Jungle!!!

A very special episode coming at you today where we relive the infamous 1993 Guns N' Roses Melbourne Calder Park Raceway show that has gone down in history for many reasons!
On this episode I am joined by singer/songwriter Brett Franke and Engineer/Producer Owner of Incubator Studios Adrian Akkerman who were both at this show 30 years ago and are here to give us their boots on the ground report and tell us about their experience!
It’s been 30 years since the 1st of February 1993 when 75,000 rock fans to the trek to Calder Park in the blistering heat to see the biggest rock’n’roll band in the world, Guns N’ Roses who were finally playing Australia once again. Joined by Pearls and Swine, Rose Tattoo and Skid Row support acts. This show was part of the Gigantic Use Your Illusion world tour which ran from Jan 20 1991 to July 17 1993. A total of 194 shows.
For those of you tuning into the podcast from overseas Calder Park Raceway is a motor racing circuit in Melbourne holding raceway events, thunderdome and Drag Racing. Located at Keilor, in the north east suburbs of Melbourne, the track began in the 1950s with a pair of motoring enthusiasts who wanted somewhere to race their FJ Holdens, Pat Hawthorn and Jim Houlahan.
"The area later became a saturated and smelling swamp due to the heavy rains and the urine." Disturbing stuff. It could easily be a line lifted from a TV news report covering a natural disaster in some far flung part of the world. The damning assessment was part of a 100-page finding from the Victorian Ombudsman into what is arguably the worst concert ever staged in Australia. It wasn't what happened on stage at Melbourne's Calder Park that had authorities up in arms, but what happened off it. Check out the Video version of this Podcast over at Foxx on the Wire YouTube!
Check out this entertaining 30 year old news report from the show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9AhqVshmDg&t=212s

Some of you may find this Slash & Duff interview with one of Australia's finest journalists VERY entertaining!!!
