We travel to the Soviet Union, where we get to know Sergei Korolev, the man who will serve as the Chief Designer for the Soviet Space Program. However, before becoming a pioneer in space, he must endure many hardships and injustices.
Then, we witness one of the most critical moments in space history: the launch of the first artificial satellite -- Sputnik 1. We discuss the design, launch, and fallout of that fateful mission.
