So often we give our all to excel and climb upwards in our professional lives whether it’s the corporate space or entrepreneurship. We see success relatively quickly, get into a top-tier groove and reach a summit we once dreamed of. However, for some there comes a time when the view from the mountaintop isn’t quite what they pictured. And in the comfortable chaos that led to your success, you find peace is more important and a shift occurs. Today we’re spilling the tea on shifting careers and maintaining growth.

April started in book publishing and fell in love with the industry. She was able to meet new creatives, work with them closely on bringing their dream to fruition, and watch the results of their labor play out at retailers. For nine years, April excelled but was also burning the candle at both ends. At this time, she knew she needed to slow down and figure out how to realign her lifestyle so that it wouldn’t cause detriment to her health, peace of mind, and business. It was through delving deep into tai chi methodology and the healing benefits of herbal teas that she found balance. From her healing, Upland Tea House was born.
