Canada had a bad 2023 wildfire season. So bad, in fact, that the carbon emissions from Canada more than doubled from what the country usually emits. So bad that Europe was inundated by smoke from the Canadian wildfires. So bad that Yellowknife, the Northwest Territories largest city and one that is often more associated with ice and snow, had to evacuate due to the looming threat of wildfires.
