This is part three of our interview with Head Men's Soccer Coach Mauricio Ruiz and Joby Slay, author of Get More for Coaches. Jacksonville University Men's Soccer is a NCAA Division 1 program. Coach Mauricio and Coach Slay discuss youth soccer in America and thoughts on the American "play to pay" system. Coach Mauricio shares his thoughts on the challenges facing youth coaches and advice from his experience as a coach at the youth level. We field a question from parent about what it means to be an elite athlete, how you identify that and when it might be too late for an athlete to reach an elite level. Coach Slay finishes up the podcast with his thoughts on what potential is and what it means to reach, fulfill, and maximize your potential as a person and how coaches and parents can assist our youth in this process.
