In Ghostly’s debut episode, Pat and Rebecca explore the legend of Resurrection Mary. The stories regarding Mary and her many hauntings stretch back to the 1930’s (or maybe even further back…) Join us as we tell her story and debate what is fact and what is fiction. Who was she? Does she really haunt Archer Avenue? How does her tale fit not only with Chicago’s history but also the “Vanishing Hitchhiker” legend? Find out our answers to these questions and more on this first full episode of Ghostly podcast!

Archer Avenue is known as being one of the most haunted roads in all of the world. Mary is one of its many stories. But, can the story of Resurrection Mary really stand up to debate? This is what Pat and Rebecca set out to find out in Ghostly’s first episode ever.

We look into all the possible Mary’s throughout Resurrection Cemetery. She may not be who you think she is. This legend might somehow even pre-date the famous Mary’s that we mention. Mary, might not even be the name of this ghost. This is what is talked about in this episode, as well as so much more.

Who is this Mary of Resurrection Cemetery? Does she still haunt Archer Avenue? Are there stories about other hitchhikers that may haunt the world? How old was Mary? Did she die on her Birthday? What about the man that went to her parent’s house only to find out that she had died many years before?

Resurrection Mary is one of the Ghost Stories all Chicagoland area kids learn about. She has been the subject of many books, tv shows, and even movies.

There are many different versions of Mary’s story. Did she get into an accident after having a fight with her boyfriend at the now burned down Willowbrook Ballroom? Or, was she buried in Resurrection Cemetery? The different Mary’s have very different stories.
