A familiar scene plays out on an unfamiliar train. The whims of the noble Lord Glixterbury call for the Soaring Skovlander to stop in the middle of the deathlands, and as an unspoken rule the Imperial Railways should answer his call. But this train has a gang of Line Bulls that stampede together. Sometime later: Andrel confounds Georgie with an unknown power. Pip goes on a date. Drix fires a hesitant finger gun.
