Can you believe that the Girls on the Sideline pod is one year old?! This week, the girls reminisce about teaming up, creating and launching the first episode, and talk about the many fond memories they both had as podcast hosts. They discuss the very first topic they covered which was the 2015-2016 NBA Finals where the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Some of the other topics they discuss are the crazy sports stories that happened after Golden State lost to the Cavs. They highlight Black Lives Matter and Colin Kaepernick’s infamous kneeling, players boycotting the White House invite, and the things they look forward to this year.

Highlights of Today’s Episode:

  • The Golden State Warriors blowing a 3-1 lead against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
  • Last year’s Olympics, the green pool, and Ryan Lochte.
  • The 2016 ESPYS and how notable athletes promoted awareness for racial injustice.
  • NFL and NBA players boycotting the White House.
  • The NFL’s two LA teams, rookies, and if the ratings will recover or will continue to plummet.

Lindsay’s MVP & LVP of the Week:

  • This week’s MVP award goes to Draymond and LBJ beef over Instagram.
  • This week’s LVP award goes to PGA’s Brook Koepka and how the announcers mistook his current girlfriend for his ex.

Whitney’s MVP & LVP of the Week:

  • This week’s MVP award goes to NFL’s Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski and his 20-man crew for ordering over 160 bottles of champagne and spent over $100,000.00 in a casino in Connecticut.
  • This week’s LVP award goes to Jill Ellis, coach of the US women’s soccer team who only got a $90,000.00 bonus for winning women’s World Cup, which is low compared to male coaches who often get at least $500,000.00 when they win.

Their Special MVP:

  • Girls on the Sideline podcast. It’s been a wonderful year, and we look forward to another amazing year with our audience.
