We are 6-days away from Selection Sunday in College Basketball! This is the time of year that Whitney likes to call “The Bandwagon Time” for college basketball – a time of year when it’s totally okay – and even appropriate – to jump on the bandwagon of college b-ball. March Madness is just around the corner and people are getting excited to see some of the best college athletes play to win.
In this week’s episode of Girls on the Sideline, Lindsay and Whitney discuss “The Bandwagon Time” in college basketball, March Madness, The NFL Combine, and the surprising – yet long-overdue – approval of golf players wearing shorts in the PGA.
Highlights of Today’s Episode:
- Interesting March Madness statistics and the odds of picking a perfect bracket.
- NFL Combine uniforms – Are they running in their underwear??
- Adidas’ announcement leading up to the NFL Combine
- Former U-Conn safety, Obi Melifonwu, broad jumps a whopping 11-feet 9-inches and vertical jumps 44-inches in the NFL Combine.
- S. Soccer Federation announces that all U.S. players must stand respectfully during the National Anthem.
Lindsay’s MVP & LVP of the Week:
- This week’s MVP award goes to: The PGA for finally embracing shorts.
- This week’s LVP award goes to: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback Jameis Winston for his demeaning speech to fifth-grade students.
Whitney’s MVP & LVP of the Week:
- This week’s MVP award goes to: The Penn State Dance Marathon and Football Team for their amazing dance performance as well as the school raising over $10-million dollars during the 46-hour dance event.
- This week’s LVP award goes to: Media sensationalism
