Refusal to Repent requires Righteous Judgment

God is being patient and kind. His kindness is what means to lead to repentance –to lead you to him. He is not going to force himself on you. His spirit will draw you to him leading you to repentance

They mistook his patience for his absence. If I judged me by not he aint going to judge me

But they were being stubborn (

But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin,

you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself.

What does it mean to store up something? You stack it up. So those who don't repent and turn are stacking up a storage unit of wrath.

For a day of anger is coming when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will judge everyone according to what they have done.

Eternal Life vs Wrath

He will give eternal life

  • to those who keep on doing good (not good for salvation but good out of your salvation. Those who trust in the Lord will do good.)

  • seeking after the glory and honor and immortality (eternity) that God offers.

He will pour out his anger and wrath on

  • those who live for themselves

  • who refuse to obey the truth

  • instead live lives of wickedness, fight against the truth walk in evil ways

Trouble or Glory

  • There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.

  • But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.

It's not works-based salvation but he will reward those who honor him not based on the background but individual specifically

  • For God does not show favoritism. The Gospel is for everyone. All means All in the Bible. This faith has no race.

  • You going to get what you have earned

  • We must ask him to reveal our sins so we can repent

  • Not get satisfied in our sin.

  • What if God punished us right away every time we did something wrong life would be a mess and be graceless. But eventually, there will be punishment if you don't repent

As parents we give our children chance after chance but why take a chance with Jesus? It's too much to gamble your eternity for the sake of thinking you have time.

Remember that Jesus came first to save and next to Judge

The chew

The antidote for wrath is repentance.
