Welcome to Episode 17 of Glory Days of Gold. This week's episode is brought to you by our sponsors Tony Ciarletta, Hendry Ireland, and John Scott Neill. Much thanks and appreciation goes out to you all.
Recorded across two continents, Glory Days of Gold brings you a regular dose of East Fife FC and Scottish football chat, with a splattering of interesting interviews, fun segments, and music thrown in along the way.
Our feature interview this week is with one of the signature signings made by the Fife this offseason, a man with a lot of experience in both Scotland and England, a man who has lifted cups at both Hampden and Wembley, and the player who Glory Days Of Gold are sponsoring this season - Danny Swanson.
We chat with Danny about his career to far, from Berwick to Dundee United, from spells in England to three stints at St Johnstone, and about playing for both Edinburgh teams, one of whom he adores and one of whom he's grown up hating. So how did he end up at East Fife, what has he made of being at the club so far, and how does he view the club's prospects for this coming season?
Plus find out which manager made the biggest impression on him, his most cherished piece of football memorabilia, and we also talk about some personal off the pitch issues including having a heart bypass in his early teens and his battles with depression.
All this and a lot more besides in what is one of our best interviews so far that will leave all East Fife fans delighted that this man is at our club right now.
Plus there's lots of East Fife chat, we find out if Dougie Cameron fancies a chocolate digestive, Argy Bargy feature in this week's football music section Wavelength as Football Violence Awareness Month wraps up, and Have You Heard? returns with a song from Kirkcaldy band The Shambolics.
Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:
