She is also the creator of a successful digital badge-based professional learning platform. Cate Tolnai Cate Tolnai works as an Academic Technology Specialist for the Santa Clara County Office of Education and has been researching and advocating for gamification of professional learning since 2013. Prior to coming to Downingtown Area School District he was the K-12 Assistant Superintendent for the Mars Area School District, supervisor of curriculum/instruction and staff development, a middle school assistant principal, and activities director in the Keystone Oaks School District. He also previously served as a ninth grade teacher at Penn Hills School District.
