Molly Burch and her band recorded her debut LP PLEASE BE MINE in just one day. That urgency somehow translated into the laid-back, beachy vibes of “Wrong for You.” Burch sings “I know that I’m so very wrong for you” so sweetly her sentiment seems impossible. Her advanced training as a jazz vocalist has given her remarkable control of her voice, but she leans instead on Dylan-esque phrasing and an affected delivery to make the track memorable. The band plays with joyful precision.
