TEXT: Matthew 11:16-19 We can take comfort in knowing that the Gospel will not be preached in vain. In the words of Matthew Henry, “Though the means of grace be thus slighted and abused by many, by the most, yet there is a remnant that through grace do improve them, and answer the designs of them, to the glory of God, and the good of their own souls.” The wisdom of preaching the Gospel will be justified through those who accept the salvation provided through Jesus Christ. Many Christian leaders have set up different types of strategies on how to evangelize this group or that group. We have seeker-sensitive churches and multi-campus churches. We have developed methods that are focused towards reaching specific ethnic groups, religious groups, or age groups. We have “hip” preachers and strict preachers, yet most of society rejects the Gospel. We must recognize that the inhabitants of this sinful world are like whiny children complaining that their friends will not play whatever game they have set up. Nevertheless, we must remain faithful in proclaiming the Gospel so that some might be saved.
